A very good green leatherette hardcover volume, with Gilt lettering and decoration on spine and Gilt decoration on cover, gilt top edge and the book is in Mint condition and has never been read.

Daphne du Maurier is no the first in her family to bring fame to the du Maurier name. Her grandfather was George du Maurier, a noted actor-manager of the English stage.

Born in London and “educated at home,” Miss du Maurier produced her first novel, The Loving Spirit, in 1931, when she was only twenty-four years old. A number of her later novels---all of them enormously successful—were placed in the same general locale, notably Jamaica Inn, Rebecca and MY Cousin Rachel.
